M.E.C. is working towards the development of primer components for small arms ammunition, designed to support defence and security sector requirements.
The proposed products will be developed in accordance with applicable technical specifications and quality standards, subject to regulatory approval and production commencement.
Cal. 5.56 × 45 mm Primer (Small Rifle Primers)
This primer type is intended for use in 5.56 × 45 mm calibre small arms ammunition, commonly used in military and law enforcement platforms.
Planned design objectives include:
- Reliable ignition performance
- Dimensional precision and consistency
- Compatibility with standard ammunition assemblies
- Compliance with applicable testing and safety standards
A state of the art fully automated plant is under construction and will commence in early 2027.
Cal. 7.62 × 51 mm Primer (Large Rifle Primers)
This primer type is intended for 7.62 × 51 mm calibre ammunition systems, widely used across defence and security platforms.
The proposed primer design focuses on:
- Consistent ignition characteristics
- Stable performance under varying operating conditions
- Controlled manufacturing tolerances
- Compliance with applicable safety and quality frameworks
A state of the art fully automated plant is under construction and will commence in early 2027
